Let’s be honest: even in schools that value project-based learning, projects are not happening all the time, perhaps not even most of the time. And in more traditional schools, projects may not even be a choice. How can we ensure that Deeper Learning is being promoted all day long in schools of all types? How would instruction be different if that were the case? EL Education has a new book on Deeper Instruction, which addresses these questions. We will share the book’s framework and grapple together, both as students—engaging in lessons that model Deeper Instruction—and as educators, considering its application to our work.
