Limited Capacity filling up

Can we simultaneously teach mathematics in ways that engage all learners, that support students who need additional instructional supports, and that build student and teacher capacity to have meaningful conversations about math while working together to understand multiple solution strategies? Yes, we can! Instructional Routines are practical tools for teachers that use a predictable set of “thinking actions” to allow students and teachers to foreground the challenging work of deeper learning in mathematics. In this Deep Dive, participants will experience and unpack an inquiry-oriented instructional routine, then plan to enact it for themselves in a public rehearsal as a group. The goal will be for participants to be able to demonstrate what they have learned through modeling this routine for others.
