Deeper Learning for All Students: Advancing Competencies for Educational Equity FULL

Limited Capacity full

This deep dive explores ideas about educational equity as it relates to Deeper Learning (DL).
Are the DL competencies meant for all students or just a fortunate few? In order to deliver on a promise to make DL a possibility for all, educators and advocates must themselves develop
competencies in enacting educational equity. Given the vast diversity in our student populations and the complex political realities in our systems, what must we understand and be able to do in our everyday practice to ensure educational equity? Can we articulate the competencies we need to develop?  Believing that a shared vision will strengthen our work as educators and as social justice advocates, we want to build a common understanding by articulating the competencies that ground this work. Drawing from seminal books, authors, personal experiences, and shared reflections, participants in this workshop will collaborate to articulate competencies for the educators and advocates who promote DL.

As Deeper Learning Equity Fellows, the deep dive facilitators seek to bridge the worlds of Deeper Learning and Equity through our projects. Sharing examples from our work and personal journeys, we hope to support the momentum and optimism that drives the DL movement.
