Limited Capacity full

This dive will examine how to deeply engage students in school by looking at learning through student interests, practice and relationships outside of school. At this deep dive, participants will work with students who are Harbor Freight Fellows from MetWest in Oakland and Met Sacramento. By the end of the dive, participants will be developing ways to engage students around their interests, practice and relationships especially, with students who are involved in the trades and crafts. Also, we will use Big Picture Learning's ImBlaze internship management system to show how student work can be accounted for when they are outside of school. Participants will be taken through a series of hands-on activities that illustrate the deep power of this work. They will develop their own programs around learning through student interests, practices and relationships.
