Student Voice, a nonprofit organization run by students, for students, is developing the State of Schools Report, a comprehensive document that will evaluate the current climate of America’s schools from the student perspective. The report will feature hundreds of student contributors from various educational intersections and will be framed around Student Voice’s Student Bill of Rights. In this workshop, we will work to define student voice, the process of finding one’s voice and discuss how students can advance school equity. In addition, we will work as a group to discuss the many ways that the concept of student voice can be implemented into any deeper learning classroom. Participants will walk away from this workshop with a plan for how they can bring student voice into their classrooms or schools.
