Deeper Learning 2017

Facilitated by Big Picture Learning & The Internationals Network for Public Schools,  the Equity and Excellence Escalator (E3)invites attendees to think critically about high quality, equitable learning environments for ALL students. The Equity and Excellence Escalator will share the Capstone Action Projects of the Deeper Learning Equity Fellows. Fellows are immersed in a design process aimed at creating interventions that address barriers and mindsets that perpetuate inequity in the American public education system.  The structural inequities that characterize many schools today give all Americans an inherently inequitable education system that cripples 21st century possibilities for plurality and democracy. The Deeper Learning Equity Fellows understand these structures are products of design. E3 will be an opportunity to explore new designs as fellows are currently imagining them. In a den-like setting, the fellows will share their progress to date and request feedback from attendees on equity capstone projects they’ve begun designing and implementing . Offered on day one of DL2017, the Equity and Excellence Escalator (E3) is the place to be for attendees who are passionate about better understanding school systems as design products and interested in pathways for transforming schools into engines for the more equitable world we work to leave our children.
