Janine Gomez
Two Rivers PCS Leadership Coach/Assistant Principal
Washington, D.C.
I have been a public school educator since 1992. Prior to joining Two Rivers, I was a School Designer for EL Education, Inc. (formerly Expeditionary Learning). I also served as the Lower School Principal at Capital City Public Charter School, another one of EL’s Mentor Schools. I was a 4th grade teacher in Montgomery County Public Schools (MD), and a 5th grade teacher and administrator in Durham Public Schools (NC). I also began my own educational consulting company in North Carolina.
My passion for identity, diversity, and equity work began when I taught 4th grade in Silver Spring, Maryland in 1992. Since then, I have conducted workshops and master classes for EL Education, Inc. and for several EL schools. I'm currently co-facilitating professional development on Race & Equity for Two Rivers Public Charter School.
In an earlier life, I was an electrical engineer specializing in power delivery. In my next life, I want to be a private investigator in a quiet beach town. I love to dance, practice yoga, and play golf.
