Alec Barron
Escondido Union High School District Teacher on Special Assignment
North County San Diego
I work at the secondary level to develop teachers, curriculum, and instructional practices that engage students in learning science. I taught a variety of science subjects from grades six through twelve at schools with culturally and socioeconomically diverse students. Over the course of my teaching experience, my interest in social justice in education led me to complete an Education Doctorate in Leadership for Educational Equity with the University of Colorado Denver. Currently, I am a Science Coach for Escondido Union High School District. I am also the Principal Investigator for Competency X, a program supported by an Assessment for Learning grant from the Center for Innovation in Education (CIE) and Next Generation Learning Challenges (NGLC).
